Former NFL player O.J. Simpson's death was announced earlier this week with it thought that his four children will inherit his £2.5million estate

Yesterday it was announced that O.J. Simpson has died aged 76 after a battle with cancer.

A statement posted on his social media accounts read: "On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."

The former NFL star, famous for his high-profile court case, had been battling prostate cancer which became public earlier this year. O.J. was famously accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman after they were found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home.

The former NFL player pleaded not guilty after a high-profile trial dubbed the 'trial of the century' that lasted nearly a year. After a case on live TV that sparked mass debates on race, gender, domestic abuse, celebrity justice, and police misconduct, he was acquitted by a jury.

But where are O.J.'s children now and who will inherit the former NFL star's estate? Following the news of OJ's death, it currently seems that his $3million (£2.4m) fortune will be going to his four surviving children Sydney, Jason, Justin and Arnelle.

Sydney Brooke Simpson

Sydney Simpson, 38, is the eldest child of O.J. and his late wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. At the time of her mother's death, Sydney was only eight years old.

Leading a private life following her mother's murder and father's trial, Sydney went on to pursue a career in real estate. According to reports, she has been living in Florida since 2016.

OJ mentioned Sydney and her brother, Justin, in a 2004 NBC interview when he said: "They’re doing terrific. I mean, I couldn’t (be) more proud of them.

"They’re both excellent students, honor students. My daughter just graduated this past week and got accepted to a very fine — a Northeastern school."

Justin Ryan Simpson

Justin Simpson, 35, is the youngest child of OJ and Nicole. Justin seemingly followed in his sister's footsteps, with him also leading a somewhat private life and pursuing a career in real estate.

In 2016, when The People vs. O.J. Simpson: An American Crime Story came out and sparked an interest in his father again, Justin spoke to Tampa Bay Times about living in Florida. He said: "It’s a great place to live, why not St. Pete? It’s gorgeous here.’"

O.J. talked about his son in the aforementioned 2004 NBC interview where he spoke of his daughter Sydney. Chatting about his son when he was 16, he said: "He’s taller than I am. And he is — I’ve often said he’s the finest kid I’ve ever known. He really is. He is well-liked. He participates at his school in all sports: lacrosse, basketball, football."

According to his Facebook page, Justin announced he and his partner were expecting a child together.

Arnelle Simpson

Arnelle Simpson, 55, is the eldest daughter of O.J. and his first wife, Marguerite Whitley. O.J. and his first wife were married from 1967 to 1979, with them welcoming three children.

Arnelle Simpson served as a defense witness at her father’s 1995 murder trial. She testified that her dad was “very upset, emotional, confused” when he found out about his second wife's death.

Jason Simpson

Jason Simpson, 53, is the middle child of O.J. and his first wife, Marguerite. According to reports, he works as a chef and culinary director, although he has kept himself out of the public eye.

Jason did however talk about his father in a 2021 interview. Speaking on a podcast three years before his father's death, Jason said: "There was a time when my dad was famous, and there was a time when he was infamous.

"And I know that when he was famous, I didn’t want him around then because I didn’t want him to take away from something I took very serious, which was cooking."

Aaren Simpson

Aaren Simpson was the youngest daughter of O.J. and Marguerite, but sadly died by accidental drowning shortly before turning two in 1979.
