Nissan has recalled about 9,700 Rogue SUVs from model year 2023 because their front seatbelts may not work right in an accident.
Nissan tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “In affected vehicles, the front seat belts may contain a partially crimped lap pre-tensioner due to a supplier error that has since been corrected.” A pretensioner helps to pull a seatbelt taut in an accident. If it fails, the belt “may not restrain the occupant as intended,” Nissan says.
Nissan’s disclosures don’t say whether it is aware of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.
Dealers will replace both front seatbelt assemblies to correct the problem.
Dealers never charge for recall repairs.
