Flight Arrivals at Toulouse Airport

Toulouse Airport is located in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, and is an important gateway to this area. Just south of the airport is Blagnac, and the city of Toulouse is approximately five miles, or eight kilometers from its airport. Due to its location, the airport's full name is often referred to as Toulouse Blagnac Airport, or Aéroport de Toulouse-Blagnac in French. Toulouse and Blagnac are also communes of the Haute-Garonne département. Toulouse Airport handles over 9 million passengers per year, and is therefore a relatively large airport in France. A number of airline carriers arrive at the airport from various destinations, and the terminal building has all the necessary facilities for arriving passengers.

Passengers arriving at Toulouse Blagnac Airport will find a large, multi-storey terminal building. All international and domestic passengers are handled from within the terminal, with the departure facilities and lounges on the first floor and the meet and greet arrival areas on the ground floor. The arrivals area of the airport is easy to navigate, and once passengers have passed customs, should it be required, and have collected their luggage, they may proceed to find their relevant means of transport from outside the building. However, if there is some time to spare, passengers often like to browse some of the shops which sell all kinds of things from within the terminal, or stop for a drink or bite to eat at one of the high quality bars, restaurants or cafés before leaving the airport.

There are a number of other facilities available at Toulouse Airport. Corporate events and functions can be arranged at the Business Center found on the top floor of the terminal. There are conference rooms which seat between 10 and 35 people, as well as office space for work sessions which can be used by small groups of delegates. Equipment such as projectors, whiteboards, paper boards and WiFi connections may also be requested for use within the conference and meeting rooms. On the arrival level of the airport, there is a full-service bank, known as the Banque Populaire Occitane, as well as cash dispensers found in the Arrival Hall B and C, which are the public areas of the airport. Travelex in Hall C of the arrival area offers a wide range of services, and there is also a travel agency available in the shopping mall area.

Disabled passengers or passengers with reduced mobility will find Toulouse Airport to be completely accessible. There are ramps and lifts which provide access to all areas of the terminal, and adapted toilet facilities for those in wheelchairs. Passengers who require additional assistance upon arriving at Toulouse Airport should contact their airline company and provide them with their requirements at least 48 hours before their scheduled departure.

Although the airline carriers at Toulouse Airport provide the best service possible, it can happen that your luggage goes missing, or is damaged. Should you find yourself in this unfortunate scenario, proceed immediately to the luggage department at the airport, and contact the last airline to have transported your luggage. The procedure of searching for your luggage will then commence. Passengers with damaged luggage should also report the incident immediately, and may be eligible for compensation for the damaged items.

Passengers ready to leave Toulouse Airport will find a number of transportation options available. Buses travel every twenty minutes to the city center of Toulouse, as well as to the main railway station in the city. These buses are known as the Flybus Airport Shuttles, and are available from early in the morning to late at night. They have four stops en route to the Toulouse-Matabiau Railway Station. From the railway or bus station, many other towns and cities in France can be reached. The Flybus Airport Shuttle is a form of public transport, but there are also many other private bus services available, from companies such as Inter Ligne, Ophorus and Toursud. These companies offer transfer services to any destination in Toulouse, as well as to towns in the nearby area. A bus is available twice daily to Andorra as well. There is no direct rail connection at the airport.

Passengers who prefer a more private type of journey can hire a taxi from just outside the arrivals area, or rent their own vehicle, from one of the highly recommended car rental companies at Toulouse Airport. Some of which include Sixt, Avis, National, Alamo and HertzHertz. A rented car is always one of the best ways to explore the region, and there are many attractions in Toulouse to enjoy. The city has a wide variety of interesting museums and buildings with impressive architecture, but the World War II Museum and the La Cité de l’Espace, or the aerospace museum, are some of the more popular attractions.

Visitors who don’t have their own transport in Toulouse can however just as easily explore the attractions. There is the wonderful little ‘Touristic Train’, which takes you to all the main sights of interest, and also the unique concept of ‘Tourist Taxis’. The taxis can be hired for one or two hours, and will give you an excellent idea of what the city has to offer. The taxi drivers are specially trained by tour guides, therefore you will be in highly capable hands.

Passengers arriving at Toulouse Blagnac Airport can find out more information about the airport’s services, as well as the attractions in the area, from the airport’s official website at http://www.aeroport.toulouse.fr.
